Advertising your company and brand on vehicles can be a difficult and time consuming job. Applying sign vinyl such as Avery vinyl to the surface of a car or truck is not the same as any other surface. The fact that there are curved surfaces, particularly around door edges makes the process very complicated. To make film application easier, a heat gun is used to heat up the film during installation. This makes the film more pliable and is a key element when wrapping recessed areas and bumpers. You must ensure that the film is totally warmed and heated evenly. This will then allow the film to be applied around corners at the same time as maintaining adhesion to the surface.
Typically there are two choices when looking at heat guns. Some prefer the electric heat gun, but these tend to be less convenient as they do require power and cords. The propane torch gun is widely used and can be somewhat easier. However with these there is some potential to heat the film too quickly and scorch the film. Skilled installers however rarely find problems.
